Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1 tablespoon of loose black tea (or 2 black tea bags)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (or agave/maple syrup)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 cups of milk in a saucepan over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add the loose black tea (or tea bags) to the hot milk and steep for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and add the cinnamon stick (or ground cinnamon). If using nutmeg, sprinkle it in now.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in honey until fully dissolved; adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Strain into mugs if using loose tea, and enjoy your warm homemade vanilla cinnamon milk tea immediately.
