  • 1 tablespoon tallow (or turkey bacon grease)
  • 1 pound boneless sirloin (cut into bite-sized chunks)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Optional: ground cumin and chili powder to taste
  • Kosher salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon until crispy; set aside and reserve some for garnish.
  2. Preheat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat and add tallow.
  3. Sear the boneless sirloin chunks until browned; remove from pot.
  4. Brown the ground beef with optional spices for about 15 minutes.
  5. Return the sirloin to the pot, add beef broth, and stir well.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  7. Crumble in the cooked turkey bacon and mix; season with salt to taste.
